Often times we get so busy in our lives that we forget that God cares about even our smallest requests. God showed me without a doubt that He cares about me and it was really cool so I wanted to share it.

Last month, the flu was rampant down here in sunny Florida where I live. It made the rounds in my family and kept us from attending church a couple of weeks in a row. Fortunately for us, our church services can be viewed online “live” so we didn’t miss it. However, it just doesn’t feel the same to me as when you’re physically there.

One week, my husband and son were still sick and wanted to watch service online, but I really wanted to go to church. So I decided to go by myself. Our church is really large and we often times have to park a long distance from the building. I was running late leaving the house so it was inevitable that I was going to have to park and walk a good way by myself in the dark and I was really dreading it. I started praying and telling God that I really didn’t want to have to park so far away.

When I pulled in, I could see that it was already crammed full and the traffic attendants were waving everyone to the very far end where you have to walk over a bridge and then through the huge parking lot to get to church. There were at least 30 cars in front of me and they were all being waved to the far end. Suddenly, the traffic attendant jumped in front of my van and stopped me. He came over to me and said: “Wait here”. I sat there holding up traffic while he went and backed out his car in the very first parking space and pulled it up on the curb. Then he directed me to pull into that space he just evacuated and went back to directing the traffic to the far end again.

I was really curious why he did that so I said: “Hey, what made you give me that spot?” ( I knew all along it was God’s doing, but I wanted to hear what he said). So he told me: “Well, I am going to go home after I finish with the traffic and I’m coming back to service in the morning. When I saw you driving alone, I didn’t want a woman to have to walk all that way by herself”. I told him about what I had been telling God about not wanting to have to park so far away and we both laughed because we knew God had definitely put that on his heart.

Now Dave (the traffic attendant) and I are friends and I just found out that he works for the same company I do. So not only did God care about my “small problem”, but He also gave me a new friend.
